Current Grants
  • EPA General Assistance Program - $283,188
    • Funds the General operation of the Environmental Department. Program tasks include the development of environmental documents, mapping, education and outreach, summer internships, and NAEPC/RTOC representation.
  • EPA Clean Water Act Section 106 - $85,000
    • Funds water quality monitoring for ground and surface water (NOT DRINKING WATER).
  • EPA Clean Water Act Sectio 319 - $65,000
    • Funds Non-Point Source Management for Water Protection. current activities include erosion control and urban greening. 
  • EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant - $154,028
    • Funds the development of a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) and a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP). Activities include a Greenhouse Gas Inventory across all Tribal Sectors and developing mitigation actions to be implemented. 
  • EPA Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling $1,500,000
    • Funds the development of a new Small-Scale Sorting and Transfer Station at the current INSY Transfer Station (DUMP). Activities include the construction of a fully enclosed building, trash pick-up in years 2/3, data collection and reporting.
  • EPA Tribal Drinking Water Set Aside 2025 - $1,510,100
    • Funds Drinking Water System improvements. activities include installing smart meters, interconnecting San Felipe Systems, and Upgrading Telemetry system for remote access. 
  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services - $20,000
    • Funds the development of habitat restoration for the Critically threatened Southwestern Pond Turtle. 
  • U.S.D.A Natural Resource Conservation Service - $30,964
    • Funds the development of habitat restoration for the Critically threatened Southwestern Pond Turtle. 
  • California Natural Resource Agency - $10,000,000
    • Land acquisition of the Pinto Ranch and development of Tribally lead Nature and Cultural Center.
  • Cal-Fire Forest Health Grant - $2,500,000
    • Funds the Volcan Mountain Brush Crew. Activities include the creation of a red card certified hand crew, development of a Tribal Nursery, and reforestation efforts. Collected materials supplement the Ily Winy Wood Bank.
  • IHS SDS Grant - $1,100,000
    • Funds assist in the development of the INSY's Small-scale Sorting and Transfer Station.
  • Women's Foundation - $15,000
    • Funds the development and expansion of INSY's Community Garden and Food Sovereignty. 
  • Tribal Community Resilience Grant - Community Resilience Center Planning - $250,000
    • Funds support the completion of feasibility Studies, Engineering reports, designs, and environmental compliance for a Community Resilience Center.​
  • Tribal Community Resilience Grant - Planning Staff - $150,000
    • Funds support payroll for essential staff to conduct emergency planning.​

    • Tribal Nursery Expansion
  • BIA Environmental Youth Program - $100,000
    • Funds to send Tribal Youth Program to Native American Fish and Wildlife Conference and Annual Region 9 EPA Conference.
    • Additional application will fund a weeklong summer camp. 
  • San Diego Foundation - $100,000
    • Funding to provide portable battery storage banks to low-income families (on-reservation) who don't qualify for programs offered by SDGE.
  • Women's Foundation FY25 - $15,000
    • Funding to expand Tribal Food sovereignty by building a chicken coop ad supporting materials. 
  • Innovative Infrastructure for Wood Materials - $1,000,000
    • Funds to expand the Ily Winy Wood Bank by building infrastructure for processing wood material. infrastructure includes sawmill, lathes, plainer, and other wood processing equipment.
  • EPA Environmental and Climate Justice Change Grant - $10,000,000
    • Funding to build a Community Resilience Center complete with Gym, Laundy Facility, Locker Rooms, Commercial Kitchen, Tech Center, Wellness Center, and General offices. ​
